Be sure to familiarize yourself with the city’s rules, regulations, and ordinances to keep yourselves (and us!) safe and out of trouble.

Welcome to North Myrtle Beach! We hope you have a wonderful visit!

While you are here, please observe our beach laws, the most important of which are available here: https://www.nmb.us/342/Beach-Laws

Please be aware that recently, in response to a growing number of citizen and visitor complaints, we have added an additional enforcement focus to these particular laws:

FIREWORKS are illegal in North Myrtle Beach.
It is illegal for anyone to use, fire, shoot, discharge, burn, or in any manner ignite or activate any fireworks while in the North Myrtle Beach city limits. A first offense results in a ticket ($310), and a second offense can result in a custodial arrest. It is also illegal for any person to sell, offer for sale, store, exchange, give away or possess for sale, commercial exchange or commercial gift, any fireworks, except in Limited Industrial Zones. No fireworks stores are located in North Myrtle Beach.

NOISE – Quiet Hours are Observed 11:00 pm-7:00 am.
It is illegal for any person to cause or permit any sustained or repetitive noise, regardless of the source, that is audible beyond the property line between the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00 am, when, in the opinion of the responding official, such noise is excessive, disrupting the peace or disturbing the general public.

TRASH Collection
Over the past several years, more and more short-term rentals, located in our residential neighborhoods, have become available to the vacationing public, largely due to the popularity of online rental platforms. This growth in short-term rentals has generated complaints about an overabundance of trash left curbside at short-term rentals. The City now picks up trash from short-term rentals four days per week— Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Please observe the trash collection days and times that your property manager provides to you. Please do not leave trash outside trash receptacles.

COMPLAINTS – How to Register a Complaint
If you should need to file a noise, fireworks, trash or other complaint during your stay with us, please call Police Dispatch at 843-280-5511. This will enable us to respond in real-time to your complaint.
